Your privacy is important to us. No, seriously. We're not just saying that. We're not that kind of site.

You don't need to register to enjoy LoveHowTo. However, you still should, because then we can let you know when we add new features...oh, let's face it, we just want you to register so we can reach out to you periodically and remind you that we're here and we miss you. We also want you to register because you have to be registered to submit your own stories. We really want to hear your stories because we find you fascinating. Really. Tell us more.

We may ask you for certain types of information, and otherwise gather information about your activities while on our site. It's not because we're stalking you. We just want you to be happy. Let us explain:

Information you provide — When you register at LoveHowTo, we ask you for personal information, including a user name, email address and password. That's not really too personal, is it? Come on, you can tell us that much. We don't want your mother's maiden name or a ring or anything. We also let you choose to receive emails from us, including site updates and love letters, as well as the opportunity to opt out of receiving such correspondence. If we propose to use personal information for any purposes other than those described in this Policy, we will offer you an effective way to opt out of the use of your personal information for those other purposes. We don't want to make you mad. Oh, and don't read anything into that word "propose." It's the last thing on our mind.

Cookies — We want to bake for you. When you log into your account at LoveHowTo, we send one or more cookies — a small file containing a string of characters, not the chocolate chip kind — to your computer that uniquely identifies your browser. We use cookies to improve the quality of our service by storing user preferences and tracking user trends, such as how people search on our site. We love you but we're not psycho. User communications — When you send email or other communication to LoveHowTo, we tie it in a ribbon and save it in a special drawer because we're sentimental that way. No, seriously, we may retain those communications in order to process your inquiries, respond to your requests and improve our services. That's all.

Links — LoveHowTo may present links in a format that enables us to keep track of whether they have been followed. We may use this information to improve the quality of our site, including partner relationships, customized content and targeted advertising. In other words, we want to know what you like so we can make ourselves more like what you want.

Don't worry, we won't leave you. If LoveHowTo becomes involved in a merger, acquisition, or any form of sale of some or all of its assets, we will provide notice before personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
