LoveHowTo Dating Directory: Christian
If your Christian faith is important to you, one of these sites might be your best method of finding a kindred spirit short of a bible study group.
Audience & Features: Christian, straight Pricing
Try Christian Cafe Search by level of commitment to faith. A Canadian company, ChristianCafe.com is owned by born-again Christians. The site really milks its "cafe" metaphor but otherwise functions smoothly and is well-populated. The "Ask Pastor Jim" articles section hasn't been updated since April 2006.

Try Christian Mingle With a smaller population than Christian Cafe and a somewhat dowdy feature set, this service has a more laid-back feel. It incorporates the Bible into the matching system. Profiles include favorite bible passages. "Think You'd Click?" pulls up profiles matched for age but not geography, which isn't terribly useful unless relocation is in your future. Formerly called Relationships.com. Owned by Spark Networks.

Try Big Church 500,000 members worldwide. Sincere and responsive singles. Owned by Owned by Various LLC. (Parent company is Penthouse Media - and some people have a problem with that. It may also explain why this is the only major Christian site offering gay and lesbian matches, albeit with minimal offerings in these areas.)

Try SinglesofFaith.com Not just a dating service but a ministry, Singles Of Faith.com holds monthly "Ministry Mobilization Days" in areas where there are more than 1000 members. They work in inner cities cleaning up ravaged neighborhoods, feeding the hungry, assisting the elderly, etc. "just like Jesus did." An attractive group of singles, very committed to their faith and to finding marriage partners. SoF is committed, too, and even built their pricing around promoting marriage.

Other Services with Christian Filtering
Audience & Features: million+ members, straight, screened, Christian Pricing
Try eHarmony 5 million members. In-depth (almost 500 redundant questions – be sure to answer consistently or you’ll be rejected!) personality test required as part of signup. Profiles use canned text (none of the members' own words) and are not accessible – you only get to see the ones eHarmony selects for you. You must describe yourself as single (e.g., not "Separated") to qualify. If you click "Separated" you'll still get the whole massive questionnaire, but then eHarmony will refuse to let you participate in the dating service, instead steering you toward their online counseling service. And then they'll send you endless emails nagging you to use them to help put your marriage back together. And your personality test results can get you rejected even if you are single. Assuming you're accepted, if you cancel your dating membership you'll be bombarded with emails saying NOW they've found you the right one. Marriage-focused and claims to be results-oriented, although our experiences showed those results are more money for eHarmony and difficulty extricating your credit card from the relationship. Primarily but not exclusively Christian. Time.com named it one of the 5 Worst Webites for "its power to cause utter despair." As a result of a lawsuit filedby the state of New Jersey, eHarmony will launch a same-sex matching service, called Compatible Partners, by March 31, 2009.

Try Matchmaker This is generally a more serious crowd - these folks are looking for love! Be sincere and you'll get sincere responses. Features video messaging as well as IM and chat. Annoyingly, if you try to click away without signing up, pushy popups beg you to stay and IM with a "live agent." Operated by Avalanche.
